The blade is pressed on the shaft so I can't oil the bearings. I think most fans now days are built overseas the manufactures want there fans to not last. They want consumers to buy another - fan for the next season that's why there thrown out every year. It's easy just take an hour of your time and with it all cleaned up you can enjoy your investment for many more summers to come.
